Microsoft Outlook Express : Not Sending and/or Receiving Mail


  1. Click Start -> All Programs -> Outlook Express

  2. Click Tools -> Accounts

  3. Click on the Mail tab

  4. Highlight mail.bulkley.net by left-clicking on it once

  5. Click the Properties button on the right

  6. In the General tab, confirm that your e-mail address is username@bulkley.net

  7. Confirm that the check-box for 'Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing' is checked

  8. In the Servers tab, confirm that the incoming mail server is a POP3 server.

    • Incoming mail (POP3) should be 'mail.bulkley.net'
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP) should be 'mail.bulkley.net'
    • Account name should be username@bulkley.net (where username is the name of your Cybernet account)
    • Password should be the password you gave to Cybernet
    • 'Log in using SPA' should be unchecked
    • 'My server requires authentication' should be unchecked
 If any of these settings are incorrect, please correct them, click  OK, then Close the other window, and click the Send/Receive  button again. If you are not sure if you have mail, send yourself  an e-mail by clicking 'Create Mail.'
